Borena University

Borena University was established under the Council of Ministers Regulation No. 420-2017. The university officially began its operations in 2013.

Location

• Main Campus: The main campus is located in Yabelo town.
• Future Expansion: The university has the potential to establish additional academic units, research centers, and community service facilities in other locations.

Vision:

• Borana University aspires to be a leading university in East Africa by 2040 in pastoralism and range ecology, governance, indigenous democracies and culture studies and researches

Mission:

• The Borana University provides quality and relevant education in different modalities to produce competent and problem-solving graduates built with knowledge, skills and ethics; conducts researches that solve nation’s problems in general and community’s problem in particular and implements relevant community engagements.

Bonga university has four colleges and one school. They are:

1. College of Pastoral Studies and Dryland Agriculture
2. College of Business and Economics
3. College of Natural and Computational Sciences
4. College of Social Science and Humanities
5. School of Law
