Assosa University

Assosa University is one of Ethiopia's third-generation public universities, established in May 2011 by the Council of Ministers decree number 215/2011. The cornerstone for the university was laid on May 4, 2009. The university is located in Assosa, the capital of the Benishangul Gumuz Regional State which is 660 kilometers far from Ethiopian Capital Ci Addis Ababa. ASU aims to produce highly qualified and dedicated Citizens, conduct research, and provide community service. It also engages in various developmental activities to achieve the country’s Growth and Transformation Plan.
