Overview

• Establishment: Adigrat University (AGU) was established in 2011 with the aim of producing highly qualified graduates to support Ethiopia's socio-economic development and the country's Growth and Transformation Plans (GTPs).
• Location: The university is situated in the town of Adigrat, approximately 900 km north of Addis Ababa, the capital.

College of Engineering and Technology (CET)

The College of Engineering and Technology (CET) is the largest college at the university, established in alignment with government policy. Initially starting with 404 students, CET now boasts over 2,500 undergraduate students across various programs. It offers 10 bachelor’s degrees and four postgraduate programs, supported by more than 500 dedicated academic staff.

The College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS) is dedicated to training competent healthcare professionals in response to national health policy needs. Established in October 2012, it began with 142 undergraduate students and has since expanded significantly.

Facilities and Community Engagement

CMHS is constructing a referral teaching hospital in Nihibi, close to the Miwtsae Werki campus, while currently utilizing Adigrat General Hospital for teaching and community service. The college actively engages in research across its various departments.

College of Agriculture & Environmental Science (CAES)

The College of Agriculture & Environmental Science (CAES) at Adigrat University (AdU) is one of the six colleges currently operating. It focuses on providing quality education in the fields of agriculture and environmental science through a modular teaching system.

The College of Business and Economics was established in October 2011 to address the growing demand for a skilled labor force in a competitive business environment, both nationally and internationally.
