Gadaa Bank

Gadaa Bank was established in 2022 with the vision of empowering Ethiopia's low and middle-income populations, particularly farmers, pastoralists, young graduates, and women who have limited access to financial services. Recognizing the need for tailored financial solutions, the founding members, supported by over 28,000 shareholders, sought to address these gaps with services that suit the unique needs of these communities. In August 2021, the founding shareholders gathered to elect a professional board of directors, and in April 2022, the bank was granted its license to officially begin operations, marking a significant milestone in Ethiopia's banking landscape.
