Siket Bank's journey began in 1996 with the establishment of the Addis Ababa Job Creation Project Office, aimed at providing financial services to underserved communities in the city. In 2000, this initiative evolved into Addis Credit and Saving Institution S.C., a microfinance organization founded by six shareholders with an initial capital of 1,017,000 birr. Starting with five branches and 85 employees, the institution quickly gained traction, serving over 1,500 customers in its first year.

In response to growing demand and regulatory changes, Addis Credit and Saving Institution transformed into Siket Bank S.C. in accordance with National Bank of Ethiopia guidelines, acquiring a banking license. Today, Siket Bank is a robust financial institution with over 537,000 customers, 151 branches, and more than 1,289 employees. As of the 2023/24 fiscal year, the bank boasts assets totaling 15.8 billion birr and a capital base of 7.9 billion birr.
