The 2017 EC (2025) Ethiopia Grade 12 national exam results have officially been released by the Ministry of Education. Students can now check their results through the

Students who use the website or Telegram can also download their temporary certificates immediately.

• Total Students: 585,882
• Students scoring above 50%: 48,929
• Students scoring 500 or more: 2,384
• Schools with 100% pass rate: 50
• National pass rate ≥ 50%: 8.4%
• Highest scores achieved: 591 in Natural Sciences, 562 in Social Sciences

Out of the total 585,882 examinees, 134,609 students (23%) sat for the exam online. Among them, 29,239 students passed, resulting in a 21.7% pass rate. This is a significantly higher success rate than those who took the paper-based exam, proving that online examinees performed better in 2025.

Performance in the 2017 EC Grade 12 exams varied greatly by type of school:

• Government Schools: Only 5.7% of students passed
• Private Schools: 51% of students passed
• International Schools: Achieved the best results, with 86% of students passing
• Special Boarding Government Schools: Recorded a strong performance, with 70% of students passing

This breakdown highlights a wide gap between government schools and private/international institutions.

Addis Ababa: 14,623 students passed (highest in the country)

Oromia: 11,651 students passed

Gambella: strongest improvement, rising from 1.7% pass rate last year to 4.5% this year, showing a 2.8% increase
