Each chapter aims to achieve specific learning goals:
Unit 5: Identify and Describe Animals
In this unit, students learn to recognize and name different animals. They study both common domestic animals such as dogs, cats, and cows, and wild animals such as lions, elephants, and birds. Learners also practice describing animals by size, color, and features using words like big, small, brown, and fast. Activities include naming animals, describing pictures, and talking about their favorite animals. By the end of the unit, students can describe animals clearly in short, simple sentences.
Unit 6: Name Various Food Items and Express Preferences
This unit introduces words and expressions about food. Students learn the names of fruits, vegetables, snacks, and drinks, and use them to talk about meals and daily habits. They practice expressing what they like or dislike using complete sentences such as “I like oranges” or “I don’t like spicy food.” Lessons include identifying food items, asking questions about preferences, and having short conversations about favorite meals. Learners finish this unit able to speak confidently about food choices.
Unit 7: Use Phrases to Express Likes and Dislikes
In this unit, students build on earlier lessons and learn to express opinions more naturally. They use phrases such as I like, I don’t like, I enjoy, and I prefer to talk about different topics, including games, colors, and weather. Practice includes sharing opinions with classmates, describing personal preferences, and listening to short dialogues. By completing this unit, learners can express feelings and choices clearly in simple English.
Unit 8: Understand and Use Spatial Vocabulary
This unit teaches important words for describing location and direction. Students learn prepositions such as in, on, under, next to, between, and behind. They use classroom objects, maps, and simple drawings to show understanding. Practice involves describing where things are, giving directions, and following spoken instructions. By the end of the unit, students can describe places and positions correctly in everyday situations.
Unit 9: Communicate Abilities Effectively
The final unit focuses on expressing what people can and cannot do. Students learn to use can and can’t in short statements and questions, such as “I can swim” or “I can’t ride a bicycle.” They talk about skills, talents, and everyday activities. Lessons include short conversations, reading passages, and writing exercises. By completing this unit, learners can communicate their abilities with accuracy and confidence.
