The Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation (EBC) is one of Ethiopia's oldest and largest public/state-owned service broadcasters. Established in 1935 during the reign of Emperor Haile Selassie, it is a government-owned public service broadcaster headquartered in Addis Ababa. EBC has 2,200+ permanent staff at the Head Office and its regional branches across the country.

- 1979: Color television started on an experimental basis.
- 1984: Regular color transmissions commenced.
- 1995: ERTA was formally established, merging radio and television operations.
